Bazelet and Lin, one of the largest bees’ farms in Israel, have formed Canabuzz-Med, a joint venture directed to test the efficacy of specific cannabis extracts as a veterinary product for treating honeybees.
A series of tests are conducted under the supervision of Prof. Sharon Shafir from the Dept of Entomology of The Hebrew University.
Bazelet’s designated extracts are designed to provide a strong synergistic anti-pest resolution to treat varroa, a common parasitic mite in honeybees. Large scale experiments are being conducted to evaluate the efficacy of these designated cannabis extracts to fight varroa, strength honeybees’ colonies and increase their honey production yields and quality.
